Hit Girl Costume

September 2011, I was trying to figure out what costume I wanted to wear for Halloween and thought it would be so amazing if I could be Hit Girl. With all the layers, I wouldn't be cold in late Autumn weather and Hit Girl's just so cool! I'm an amateur when it comes to sewing and creating costumes, so making my own felt too daunting.

I started out looking for costumes to purchase online and I must say I was not impressed with any of them. So, I began looking through images of cosplayers (many of them really cute little girls and their proud parents! And some sexier re-imaginings... >.<"). That then led me to looking up clips of the movie and behind the scenes stuff on Youtube, which THEN led to me a particular cosplay video this father had made of his adorable daughter showcasing her costume (and himself as Big Daddy I believe).

It upsets me that the video has so many dislikes. Go spam the like button guys!

In the comments, they said she had already outgrown the costume and they were looking to give away the Hit Girl costume to someone who really wanted to wear it and use it (as opposed to someone looking to resell for profit). He had the measurements and descriptions of the costume posted up and I was overjoyed that they seemed like an almost perfect fit for me! Only thing was, they indicated they were looking to give it away by August. Even though it may have been too late, I still sent them a message telling them a little about me and my intentions of putting the costume to use. Luckily, they still had the costume and after a few emails back and forth, they sent the costume my way and even paid for the shipping! All they asked for in return was that I send them a link to pics of me having fun in the costume! I've made them wait quite a long time, but I finally nabbed a photographer and some friends to get a shoot together. The location Kristin and her father had for their photos and video is so much cooler than ours, but hey, it's all about having fun! More on my photoshoot in the next post!
