My friend had made the FB event page for a couple friends to go see this movie weeeeeks ago. Good call on her part. Definitely go see this movie with friends so you can geek out together! Makes the experience that much more awesome. I'm rather happy the audience I was sitting with was amused at every little incident and applauded every time a new Avenger was introduced in the movie. It was so cute. :)
When seeing a movie opening weekend with a group, gather the money ahead of time (and get Costco movie tix like we did) and have one person get all the tickets while the rest of the group gets in line (for the correct time if there are multiple lines!). Once let in, go straight in and grab seats together and then go buy drinks and snacks.
I went in having seen Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor. Therefore I missed the introduction of Black Widow in Iron Man 2 and the background history of the Hulk from his title film. But I think the film did a good job inserting reminders of how each acquired their powers (without being too obvious about trying to bring the audience up to speed) and showcased each Avenger's skill set and personalities. I was worried that there would be some awesome (well known and loved like Iron Man) and some sucky Avengers (lesser known Hawkeye/ Hulk), but I think they gave each one an important role in the story and they fought really well.
To not be a spoiler, I won't recount any of my favorite scenes, BUT I will say I love the stinger they added to the end of the movie. So if you haven't seen the movie yet, make sure you sit through the movie in its entirety!

(but covered up the entire poster >.<)
If you don't know what I mean by butt-pose, here's the link :)
